What is this test?

A low-dose X-ray that measures bone mineral density. It's the gold standard for diagnosing osteoporosis and assessing fracture risk.

How to Prepare

Avoid calcium supplements 24 hours before the test. Wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal. Inform staff if you've had barium or contrast dye recently.
